What is FinishRaces?
FinishRaces is a free web app built for sim racers who want to stop mentally calculating pit fuel setups whilst racing.

It works alongside a tiny Windows Companion App that lives quietly in your system tray that by design, uses the tiniest amount of processor time. When you launch a supported sim, the Companion App detects it automatically — no configuration, no profile selection, nothing to set up. It just starts reading your live telemetry data (an incredibly tiny amount of what is actually available) and sending it to FinishRaces in the background. It does this in periodic bursts (configurable between 1 to 5 seconds - 3 seems to be reasonable), which once again, reduces processor time.

From there, the FinishRaces web page tracks your fuel burn, lap times and remaining race time to calculate exactly how much fuel you will need (and then split over how many stops are necessary / planned). It updates (about every 1/4 second) ensuring accurate fuel predictions, lap after lap, in real time, leaving you to concentrate on those apexes and exits.

How it works
  1. Set up your Weekend — enter your Free Practice, Qualifying and Race session lengths, your base lap time and expected fuel burn. Takes under a minute. This will give you a high level view of all sessions.
  2. Install the Companion App — a small Windows tray application (~7MB) that reads the telemetry your sim already produces and sends it to FinishRaces every few seconds. It runs quietly in the background while you race.
  3. Race. — Open the Race screen on any device (your phone on a mount, a tablet, a second monitor, and on multi devices if you so desire). Your fuel requirement, pit strategy and lap data updates automatically as the race unfolds. Choose from 5 pit-stop strategies to match your situation — whether you’re chasing minimum stops, managing a safety car, or just need to splash and dash. No typing, no counting, no guessing.
